Also, we have had a English-French translator review the text of your work. לכבוד הרה"ג מוהר' נחום לאם שליט"א וכל טוב אחדשה"ט. אני שמח לשלוח לך בדרוש זה התרגום השלם של סוגה בשושנים, עוד לפני יד הגהות, כמו שקבלתי את הדפים האחרונים, היות והמתרגמת עזבה בינתיים שט"ב לקבל על עצמה. היהלום בית ספר בפרוורי פאריש נמשך התרגום עד עתה. לפי מה שקראתי בו ע"י דפדוף נראה לי התרגום מצויין ומאוד נהניתי מקראתי. מכל מקום אנסה עכשיו לעבור בעיון על כל הספר. אם כתב יסכים לתרגום זה אני מוכן להעביר את הקסט אולי למוסד מיוחד כדי להדפיס אותו על כתב להתנות על התנאים שירצה

Letter about French Translation of "A Hedge of Roses" (2001)

Dear [ ], I have been informed that you are preparing to publish a French language edition of my book A Hedge of Roses (copyright 1966), which has been translated into French, with my consent, by [ ]. This is to confirm that I waive any claim I may have to royalties from the sale of the French language print edition of A Hedge of Roses (the “Book”), subject to the following conditions: (1) the copyright notice and the dedication page shall appear exactly as they did in the 1987 English language edition of the Book, and I am enclosing a photocopy thereof; (2) prior to publication of the Book, you shall submit the page proofs (including the cover design and any artwork or illustrations) to me for my review and written approval; (3) upon publication, you shall send me without cost fifty (50) copies of the Book for my personal use; (4) Les Editions Colbo will indemnify and hold me harmless from and against all claims, including intellectual property claims and litigation, that may be asserted against me as a result of the publication of the French language edition of the Book. Kindly indicate your agreement to these terms by signing a copy of this letter where indicated below and returning it to me.
