Letter to "World Over" Editor on Publishing Photos from India and a Poem from a Girl in Poona (1961)

Dear Morris: I have just returned from India as you know and as requested, I kept my open for items that you may be able to use. The object of my visit, as I am sure you understand, was "business" and not pleasure, and my time was, therefore, very much restricted. However, I do expect to have some pictures, taken by myself and some taken by professional photographers, and as soon as these are received I shall let you have those that I think you would find of interest for your publication.Meanwhile, the enclosed poem was written by a young lady, Bebe Daniel from Poona – as exotic a place as you could want. She is very interested in having it published in the United States. Do you think you can use it? Whether you do or not, please let me know, and please return the copy of the poem to me. Dear Dr. Rosengarten: During my recent trip to India I visited the fabled city of Poona, and there a young girl showed me the enclosed poem, which expresses her Jewish feelings. I think your readers might be interested in this short poem from a Jewess in the Far East. I know the young lady will feel most proud to have her poem published in the "Jewish Forum." My Dear Mr. Mazgaonkar: I am terribly, terribly sorry that I failed to answer your previous letter. I make it a practice to answer all correspondence, especially those of dear friends. Your letter must have been misplaced, for I cannot imagine so neglecting it as not to answer altogether. I am pleased that all is well with you and I do hope that you will remember me to your family, and to all our mutual friends in Bombay as well as in Poona. I have been thinking that I wanted to send you a gift of some books for the coming festival of Purim.
