Letter from R. Rubenstein about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Rabbi Lamm: I trust this letter finds you and your family in the very best of health. This letter is to thank you for your kindness in composing an inscription to be placed on the monument of my dear departed brother, Rabbi Bernard Rubenstein, z.l. The text that you created has poetic beauty and captures the spirit of my late brother. It was most kind of you to think of Fran and to take time from your busy schedule to draw up the inspiring inscription that you did. May we have opportunities to exchange joyful tidings in the future. Congratulations to you upon being elected president of Yeshiva University. It is a distinction that you are most deserving of. May the Yeshiva in particular, and Judaism in general, flourish under your dynamic leadership. If I can be of any help to you at any time, please feel free to call upon me. Kind personal regards and my profound gratitude. Cordially, Samuel W. Rubenstein.
