Exchange with Brandeis President about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Dr. Lamm: It is with great pleasure that I write to congratulate you on your election to the Presidency of Yeshiva University. Although we have not had the pleasure of meeting, at least to the best of my memory, I have for years known of you and have heard the most glowing things. All of us here at Brandeis are delighted that Yeshiva will be under your guidance, and we celebrate that the institution will continue to have clear and forceful direction.I do hope that we can get together for a private lunch at some point in the near future. We share in a unique way a set of problems and a range of opportunities. I come to New York on a very regular basis. Once the dust settles for you, we can select a mutually satisfactory time.Again on behalf of all of my colleagues and the entire Brandeis community, our heartiest congratulations.Sincerely yours,Marver H.
