Letter from R. Reiner about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Norman: May I take this opportunity to express to you my sincerest wishes of mazel tov on your election to the presidency of Yeshiva University. It was truly a delight for me to read of this assignment in the news media and to have it confirmed in a letter by Mr. Max Etra, the chairman of the board of Yeshiva University. As close as I have been with Yeshiva these past years, your appointment as its president brings the aspiration of Yeshiva University that much closer to me. It is truly a privilege to know that a colleague, an associate, and a friend has undertaken the obligations to assure a vital future for the institution that has played so major a role in my life. If there is any way at all in which I can be of assistance, please never hesitate to call upon me. Once again, my sincerest congratulations and mazel tov to you, to Mindy, and to your family. jr/ess. Jack Reiner.
