Letter from R. Poupko about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Norman: Allow me to join your legion of friends in extending to you my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes upon assuming the presidency of our beloved Yeshiva University. Although the news of your election to the presidency was no surprise to me, as I was among those who even five and ten years ago predicted this selection, yet as one who experienced the transition from Dr. Revel ז״ל to Dr. Belkin ז״ל, my heart was filled with joy and confidence for the future of Yeshiva University where I spent nine years of my youthful life. I am convinced that your scholarship, piety, total commitment to Torah values, and rare brilliance will further the qualitative growth of Yeshiva University. With fervent prayers for your good health and hatzlachah, I remain with best wishes and warmest personal regards. BAP
