Letter from R. Poleyeff about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Norman: May I join the many of your well-wishers in extending to you warmest congratulations on your selection as president of Yeshiva University. In following in the footsteps of Dr. Bernard Revel z”l and Dr. Samuel Belkin z”l you have a monumental task ahead of you, but one in which there is no doubt you will succeed. Yeshiva has made its mark in the world Jewish community as a Torah and educational institution of the highest calibre. I should like to wish you success not only in advancing these standards, but in improving Yeshiva’s image, where only the highest standards of Torah and halakhah are maintained. Congratulations again. Cordially, Rabbi Israel Poleyeff
