Letter to Michael Family Conveying Mazel Tov Upon Birth of Baby (1975)
Mrs. Lamm and I were overjoyed to hear of the wonderful news of the arrival of Jessica (Yocheved) this past week – I thank you for giving me the opportunity to offer you a warm Mazal Tov and to bask in the reflected joy of your home – as I told you once before, when you were married, it is not very often in the life of a Rabbi that people tell him the good news after the bad news – you are one of the rare exceptions, and I cherish you all the more for it – I hope you will give my very warmest regards to Mrs. Erlich, and that the two of you, your families, and all of us will be the beneficiaries for years without end of undiminished nachas and pride from young Jessica – I am so very pleased that you say, “We are going to raise our child in our Jewish home” – a fitting tribute linked to the memory of the late Mr. Erlich – let me offer you too, with equal pleasure, my warmest congratulations upon the academic achievements of the both of you, and the hopes that I will continue hearing this kind of good news as time goes on – may the Almighty grant that His blessings be with you and your family always.
