Letter from Frank Macchiarola about "The Religious Thought of Hasidism" (2000)
Dear Dr. Lamm: Before too much more time goes by I wanted to write to let you know how much I enjoyed The Religious Thought of Hasidism. I keep it close at hand because the stories are short enough to enjoy in one sitting during a hectic schedule. When one lives a complicated life, it is often easy to put aside some of the fundamental beliefs and take them for granted. The Hasidim are able to resist that because, in part, they have so involved God into their daily life and into the most ordinary of their routines. It is a beautiful way to live life and it gives us a constant reminder of the truly important. Your fine work brings that out beautifully. I hope that all is well with you and that the University is doing well. From all accounts I get, it seems to be well on course. Wishing you the very best for the new semester, I am, FJM/cf 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights, New York 11201 (718) 489-5345 – Fax (718) 237-8964
