Letter from R. Krinsky about the Passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (1994)
Dear Rabbi Lamm, On behalf of the Lubavitch movement I would like to thank you, and all those you represent, for your condolences expressed after the histalkus of the Rebbe הכ״מ. As we mourn the histalkus of our beloved Rebbe, we are cognizant that the loss is not ours alone. The Rebbe belonged to klal yisrael, and to every individual. He brought meaning, blessing and G-dliness into the lives of millions, and we are all diminished by his passing. But the Rebbe has left us a legacy that is as broad as it is deep, and as compelling for its philosophical insights and spiritual heights, as it is for its pragmatic efficacy. We are determinedly committed to forge ahead to nurture and further develop all the initiatives and the huge network of variegated institutions that the Rebbe has established all over the world. With G-d’s help this hope and prayer will become a reality. May it be G-d’s will that תכלה שנה וקללותיה – ותחל שנה וברכותיה. I take this opportunity to wish you, and all yours, a kesiva v’chasima tova, v’shana tova u’metuka.
