Letter to Edy Kaufman about Logistics for Helsinki Trip (1969)
Dear Mr. Kaufman: Dov Zakheim has already written to you and cabled to you a number of times concerning my expected appearance in Kiljava. Meanwhile, I sent you, according to your request made of me through him, a photograph and curriculum vitae. In addition, I am hereby enclosing a brief outline of the two lectures I am to deliver on Tuesday morning, December 30th. Of necessity, they are very brief. May I suggest that henceforth you communicate with me directly.I would like to repeat a number of items that Dov Zakheim has already mentioned to you:(1) Because of other commitments, I have made my own flight arrangements and prefer to be reimbursed by your organization either directly or in Helsinki for the cost of New York to Helsinki and return.(2) I prefer to have private accommodations from the time of my arrival on Sunday night, December 28th, through my departure on Wednesday, December 31st.(3) I would very much appreciate it if it could be arranged for someone to meet me at the airport in Helsinki when I am scheduled to arrive on December 28th at 5:10 P.M. via Finnair #832.One more item: I prefer that the lecture on Neturei Karta be given first, and the one on Zionist Orthodox ideology be given second.I do look forward to meeting you and getting to know other leaders of the WUJS.Sincerely yours,Rabbi Norman LammNL/ekEnclosure
