Exchange with Dr. Arnold Hoffman about R. Lamm's Article Being Chosen at Panel Attended by Bostoner Rebbe (1966)
My dear Rabbi Lamm, I thought you might be interested in knowing that at last week's college weekend, arranged by the "Bostoner Rebbe" and Congregation Beth Pincus, the subject matter for panel discussion was, "State of Jewish Belief." The panel chose your article as the basis for the discussion, copies of which were distributed before the gathering. These weekends take place regularly as part of a very vigorous college program that has already brought many good results, thanks to the Rebbe's personal involvement and guidance with the students. The panel consisted of Rabbi Aaron Twerski of the Harvard Law School Faculty (shtreimel and bekesha), Mr. Dale Gottlieb of the Graduate School of Philosophy at Brandeis (the Rebbe's protege and Baal Tshuvah), Dr. Nat Leff of the Center for International Affairs at Harvard, and Dr. Yechiel Naimen, Head Physicist at Mithras, Inc., all members deeply involved with our congregation. The evening's discussion was lively and heated, but the final analysis by all was that the 65 boys and girls left greatly inspired. Sincerest best wishes, Sincerely yours, Dr. Arnold Hoffman, College Youth Ch.
