Letter of Welcome to Hoffinger Family on Their Move to the Upper West Side (1966)
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hoffinger: It has just come to my attention that you have but recently moved into our neighborhood. Permit me, on behalf of The Jewish Center to extend to you a hearty welcome to the West Side. In addition, as neighbors of yours in the same building, Mrs. Lamm and I express to you our sincerest good wishes for many years of happiness. As part of our "good neighbor policy," we should like to invite you to make use of all our facilities at The Jewish Center. I understand that you are already acquainted with our nursery school and kindergarten. We also arrange youth activities for children of all ages on Saturday afternoon. A special "nursery congregation" is available for children under eight every Saturday morning.Naturally, it would be a great pleasure for all of us to welcome you at our regular Sabbath services which begin every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. I do hope that you will introduce yourselves so that we may get acquainted. If there is anything any of us can do to help you, please do not hesitate to call upon us.Once again, our very best wishes for good luck for many, many years to come.Cordially yours,RABBI NORMAN LAMM
