Exchange with R. Eliyahu Hartman about R. Lamm's Lecture at Etz Chaim and R. Rackman's Pulpit Vacancy (1967)
Dear Rabbi Lamm – Please excuse the lengthy delay in my writing to you. I do hope that this letter finds you and your family in the best of health and spirits. Your lecture was very well received and your anticipated impact on our community did not fall short. I regret to inform you that due to some unknown reason your lecture did not come out on the tape. I feel terrible about this but I’m sure you understand. I believe that I heard you have accepted the position left vacant by Rabbi Rackman. Is this true? If yes, please accept our heartfelt wishes of “Hatzlacha.” Nechama, Shlomo and myself send our love to you and your family. Very sincerely yours, Rabbi Eliyahu E. Hartman
