Exchange with R. Ronald Gross about Presiding at Hy Tuchman's Unveiling (1972)
Dear Rabbi Lamm, On a Friday night a few months ago, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting you at the JSS in Pisa. We talked at length, mostly about an individual who meant a great deal to me, but whom you knew better, my late uncle Hy Tuchman. When I returned home, I informed my parents about our meeting and they of course remembered you. Interested with what I had to say, my parents asked me to write you and invite you to dedicate the eulogy at the unveiling which will take place on August 28th, the Sunday prior to Rosh Chodesh Elul. The unveiling is at 1:30 p.m. at Beth El Cemetery in Springfield, and they firmly request your presence. I shall be flying up to Springfield for the ceremony. I hope I can have the opportunity of speaking with you on this momentous occasion. May I please inform me whether you will be able to participate and I will let you know the exact date and location. Thank you so very much. Sincerely, Ronnie Gibbs

Exchange with R. Ronald Gross about Publishing Writings of Hy Tuchman (1972)
Dear Rabbi Lamm: I have a few questions which I hope you may be able to help with. Did Hymie write any articles of value while he was at the Jewish Center? If so could you send me copies? Also, did he write any articles or print any talks while in Springfield? How could I get any copies? Second, what do you think would be an appropriate memorial to him? I spoke to you about publishing a book of his writings. I first of all do not have everything he wrote and secondly I do not really know how to go about putting it together. Could you offer any suggestions? Third, could you recommend any sources (in addition to Hedge of Roses) which gives a good and comprehensive explanation of “Taharat Hamishpacha”? I am enclosing a copy of the Bulletin which I put out on Yom Haazmaot. In it I included an article which Hymie wrote while on the staff of the Jewish Agency. Once again thanks for everything. Sincerely, Bonnie Gross
