Letter from R. Gross Thanking R. Lamm for His Advice (2007)
Dear Rabbi Dr. Lamm, It was a great honor for me to sit next to you at the dinner in honor of Rav Schwartz in Chicago. I was greatly moved by your speech – I found it to be insightful and inspiring as well as deeply personal to hear that you and Rav Schwartz share a long and meaningful relationship built upon mutual love and respect. I just wanted you to know what a privilege it was for me, a Yeshiva College graduate and RIETS musmach whose entire education was under your stewardship of the Yeshiva, to be able to share with you a little bit of my endeavors here in Omaha, Nebraska, and to listen to and receive your input and advice. I am grateful and indebted to Yeshiva for everything it has done for me and am committed to use everything that I learned there to serve the Jewish people to the best of my abilities. If you are ever in Nebraska for any reason, it would be my great honor to host you in Omaha so that you can meet my community, experience firsthand the fruits of your own labors as president of Yeshiva, and see the growth and accomplishments that Yeshiva University has made possible. I thank you again and wish you and your family happiness and good health – I hope to see you soon at other celebrations. Respectfully, Rabbi Jonathan Gross
