My Dear Mrs. Fischel: I was moved deeply by the reprint you sent me of your husband's latest and last article. When the envelope arrived at my desk, it produced a strange reaction in me: a feeling of comfort and solace, as if Prof. Fischel were still with us; and a most poignant and saddening reminder that I shall no longer be receiving these wonderful and enlightening reprints. I do not recall if I wrote to you when I heard the dreadful news of his passing. I believe I was out of the country at the time, and returned after the event.
