Your elevation to the post occupied by your illustrious predecessor, Dr. Belkin, is a testimony to the Americanization of Jewish scholarship and religious leadership, a phenomenon which other faiths have also experienced. This development can but increase the communication between the sources of Torah and the people who should drink of its living waters, and generate understanding within the Jewish community and provide stimulus for the creative future of Judaism in this land.
