Dear Rev. Kwartin: Thank you for informing me about the progress of the Cantata, “A Letter to the Soviet Pharaohs,” based on the Kochubiyevsky incident. Anything that can be done to keep the matter alive in the minds and hearts of Americans, and especially American Jews, is praiseworthy. Unfortunately, as you realize, I will not be able to attend personally because it is scheduled for a Friday night. However, I am pleased that efforts will be made to present the Cantata elsewhere, and at other times, and I hope that at one of those occasions I will be able to attend.
