Exchange with Rabbi Ismael Cohen about Portuguese Translation of "A Hedge of Roses" and Jewish Marriage Counseling Clinics (1970)
Dear Norman נ"י: Hedge of Roses has finally bloomed into Uma Sebe de Rosas. It has undergone quite a thorny way, but b”H “lefum tzaara agra” the result is quite rewarding. After two translations which did not qualify, we have finally succeeded into having a good translator do the job, and the final revision was done by one of the members of the Brazilian Literature Academy, the highest literary society in Brazil. The cover was done by a fine French professional in Rio. We hope to have the book out within two or three weeks, בע״ה. Your copy will be mailed to you airmail, and the other copies which were requested by Feldheim, 50 for you and 100 for him, will be mailed by ship. Do you know of any Jewish Marriage Counselling Clinics in New York? I have been in touch with the Jewish Marriage Education Council in London. They are doing a fine job. I ask you, for I am planning to open a Marriage Counseling Clinic in Rio. It will have a pre-marital orientation and marriage counselling course. Thanks for any and all information on this subject. Cordially yours, Rabbi Ismael Cohen
