Letter to Mr. Afif Thanking Him for Hospitality in Poona (1961)
Dear Mr. Afif: Now that I have returned from my long trip I want to write to you and thank you for your hospitality during my stay in Poona. It was most encouraging for me to see the interest you take in Jewish affairs and the love you have for the faith of our people. Rabbi Jung asks me to tell you that his Jewish Library Series is currently being reprinted in London and will not be ready for some time. When it does appear, we will ask that it be sent to you. Meanwhile, I am having some copies of Tradition, of which I an Editor, mailed to you.I hope that you have put into effect my suggestions for having laymen do both beaching and preaching in both synagogues of Poona every Sabbath. If you have not done so, may I respectfully urge you and encourage you to go ahead with the plan. How are Lulu and her parents? Please give them my very best wishes, as well as to the Daniels and the Mordecais. Please give my beat wishes to Mr. Mazgaonkar. Please let me hear from you soon.Sincerely yours,Rabbi Norman Lamm
