Letter from R. Zambrowsky about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Dr. Lamm: We were delighted to learn of your election to the lofty office of President of Yeshiva University. Yeshiva University has been dear to us not only because it is the greatest Torah centre in the world, but also because it has historically been linked with our movement. The late and immortal Rabbi Meir Bar-Ilan served as its first President. Needless to say, we take due pride in the fact that you have been designated to fill the office that was occupied by such great luminaries as the late Rabbis Revel and Belkin of blessed memory. We are quite confident that you will measure up to the challenge and that under your wise and inspiring leadership Yeshiva University will continue to grow in depth and in strength and spread its rays of light to the entire Jewish world. We are equally confident that Yeshiva University will continue to be a source of inspiration to the students for Torah Zionism as represented by our movement. With all good wishes for your success and well-being and with fondest regards. 54 King George Ave., P.O.B. 588, Tel. 35282, Cables: HATOR
