Letter from Bernard Werner about Bnei Akiva Rosh Hashana Publication (1970)
Shalom Rabbi Lamm, Kvod Harav, Whatever his particular outlook may be, almost every Jew looks upon the Yamim Noraim as a time of spiritual stock-taking. This is true not only of the individual but of the nation as a whole. After a year as eventful as the past one, there is much indeed that must be deeply considered. The Western Province Branch of Bnei Akiva (South Africa) is producing a special Rosh Hashanah publication this year. It is our aim to reflect in it the views of prominent Jews on problems facing the State and the individual Jew—spiritual, security, religious, literary, and other questions. It is our belief that an article by you would greatly enhance our publication and contribute to the wide cross-section of opinion we hope to assemble. We sincerely hope that you will be able to fulfill this request.Articles should be in English, of any length, and should reach us at the above address during or soon after the first week in August. This is vital if the publication, which we are distributing widely here, is to appear in time for Rosh Hashanah.B’Virkat Torah V’Avodah,Bernard WernerConvener
