Letter from R. Nachum Amsel about Delivering Shiur in Memory of R. Steven Dworken (2004)
Harav Lamm – Thanks so much for speaking with me today. After giving it more thought and consulting with Mrs. Dworken, I think your idea of Torah U’Mada is an excellent one. We should be direct and expose our school community to this very topic. I have taken the liberty of attaching an informative piece which describes the Achdut Yisrael Society, which was established in Rabbi Dworken’s memory, so that if you choose to mention in your talk Rabbi Dworken and his affiliation with JKHA, and how we have attempted to perpetuate his memory, you will have some foundation with which to do so. I have also attached a tentative press release – please modify as you wish. Please feel free to call me at (973) 597-1115 x1277 if I can be of further help clarifying the society, etc. So to confirm: Date – January 19, 2005. Time – 7:30 pm. Topic – Torah U’Mada (could you add to the title?). Ma’ariv and collation will follow the shiur. Please let me know what time you would like to be picked up, location, etc. (It takes approximately 50 minutes to travel to Livingston without traffic from NYC). Thank you so much. Nachum Wachtel, Rabbi Nachum Wachtel, Assistant Principal, Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, 110 South Orange Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039. (v) 973-597-1115 x1103, (f) 973-597-3363, (e) nwachtel@jkha.org.
