Exchange with R. Isadore Twersky about Joining YU's Ragosin Center for Ethics (1966)
Dear Dr. Lamm: I have been acting as consultant for the recently established Ragosin Center for Ethics at Yeshiva University, and it is in this capacity that I write in order to invite you to join a very small group of scholars, men of learning and vision, whom we would like to have serve as associates of this Institute. We envisage this group having a twofold relationship to the Institute. In the first instance, associates will, of course, be invited to attend all lectures and colloquia arranged by the Institute but will also be encouraged to submit monographs for publication in the Institute Series. Secondly, we would hope that the associates will function collectively as an informal advisory council which could provide imaginative criticism and creative suggestions for the future development of the Institute. I hope very much that you will be able to join us at a luncheon meeting to be held in Dr. Belkin’s office on Thursday, June 30, at 1:00 p.m. It would help if you would kindly notify Mrs. Michaels, secretary to Dr. Belkin, about your intentions to attend this meeting. With best wishes, Sincerely, Isadore Twersky. P.S. Your expenses will gladly be reimbursed by the Institute.
