Letter to Soncino Press Requesting Sefarim for Jewish Center Talmud Torah (1958)
Dear Mr. Bloch: Thank you for your kind wishes and noble sentiments regarding my appointment here as Associate Rabbi. I am awaiting the arrival of the copies of Dr. Epstien's book, and also wish to thank you for the discount. Incidentally, I would like to see a book of this kind attain wider distribution amongst non-Orthodox youngsters too. I feel it might be advisable for you to send a copy to the New York Board of Education, where the decision might well be made to include the book on the approved list for High School Library purchases. The address is: Bureau of Libraries, Board of Education, 110 Livingston street Brooklyn 1, N.Y. I thank you too for remembering TRADITION to Dr. Epstien. I certainly hope he will honor us with a literary contribution. The set of SONCINO books of THE BIBLE, which you intend to donate to the Hebrew School should be embossed as follows:To The Jewish CenterHebrew SchoolFrom S.
