Exchange with David Stamler about Search for Jewish Studies Teachers at Carmel College (1966)
Dear Rabbi Lamm, It may be necessary for me at some stage to go over to the States and try to find out what possibilities there are for teachers of Jewish Studies, Ivrit in particular. I have written to Dr. Tobias and to Rabbi Chaim Pearl, and if between you three you can produce half a dozen people really worth interviewing then I would certainly come over. I cannot see how I can get away from here during term time and I know everyone leaves New York during the summer, but we shall have to cross this bridge when we come to it. The first question is, do you know of anyone worth while? With kindest regards, Yours sincerely, David Stamler P.S. It may well be that you know of someone who wishes to do some part-time research at Oxford, which is only 20 minutes away by car.
