Letter from Dr. Silver about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Dr. Lamm: It is with a great deal of pleasure that Elaine and I wish you a mazel tov upon your election to the post of president of Yeshiva University. As an alumnus and member of the RIETS board, and a friend for many years, I hope and pray that your accomplishments and achievements will be in the tradition of Dr. Revel and Dr. Belkin. I am sure that all alumni take great pride in your elevation to this most important position. Elaine and I would like to pledge our full cooperation to you and Yeshiva. With G-d’s help you will accomplish at Yeshiva what you have been able to do in every other endeavor you have undertaken in the past (and I don’t only mean being Elaine’s favorite teacher). WS:hk. Sincerely, Walter Silver, M.D.
