Letter to Dr. Sidel about R. Lamm's Appointment to YU Presidency (1976)
Dear Dr. Sidel: Thank you very much for your warm letter of congratulations upon my election as President of Yeshiva University. I glanced through some of the material you were kind enough to send me, and found it fascinating. I am taking it home with me, in the hope that I will be able to read through it thoroughly at the first occasion. I am grateful to you for your offer of cooperation. The tasks are so arduous, and the challenge so overwhelming, that only by comprehensive cooperative effort by all members of the University family can we succeed in rising to the occasion. Your letter struck just the right note of encouragement. Cordially, Norman Lamm
