Dear Haham Gaon: Although I have not received any response yet to my previous confidential note, I do want to communicate with you now concerning the Indian problem. When I returned from India in February, I sent you a copy of the Gittin currently in use by the Bene Israel. It will be most beneficial to the Jewish community in India to receive from you or your office advice concerning the proper procedure to be followed, and most especially, correct copies of Gittin. Letter from Dr. Gurock Requesting Manuscript for French Translation of "A Hedge of Roses" (1992)

This letter, which is being sent with Dr. Lamm's approval and great concern, is to officially follow up on our conversation of earlier this week with reference to the French translation of A Hedge of Roses. It is my understanding that, at present, your most recent version of the book is being copy-edited by an expert French linguist prior to its publication in France. We agreed over the phone that before this book is even set into galleys you will send us a copy of the edited manuscript for our final check. You will not have our approval to publish this work without that final check. Please acknowledge by mail or fax receipt of this letter and let us know when the edited manuscript will be available.
