Before becoming president of Yeshiva University, Rabbi Lamm was approached about several prominent leadership roles. In this letter to Minister Raphael, he expresses concern that the Chief Rabbinate of Haifa may have been promised to another candidate. Rabbi Lamm insists that he would never want to be considered for a position already offered to someone else.
