Letter to Moses Feuerstein Suggesting Diplomatic Response to a "Religious Crank" (1962)

Dear Moe (Rabbi Feurstein): Your question as to whether the correspondent of the enclosed material is Jewish can be adequately answered by the printed paragraph on the bottom of his letter. I certainly do not think you ought to give him any letter. He sounds like a religious crank, and if you want to get involved I can suggest more thrilling ways. Perhaps the most diplomatic way would be to notify him that you are only a layman and therefore hesitate to write prayers or otherwise engage in ecclesiastical activity.Thank you for remembering my recommendations concerning Paul Baris. Letter to R. Joseph Lookstein about His Homiletical Essays (1968)

Dear Rabbi Lookstein: Many, many thanks for sending me your splendid new volume of homiletical essays. Reading through them evoked a good deal of nostalgia from me for the "good old days" when you trained me – a nostalgia mingled with the same admiration which has not diminished, but rather increased through the years. I do hope that "Faith and Destiny of Man" is but the first of a series of similar volumes.
