Dear Manny: I had been in contact with some Israeli friends, and with Herman Wouk, concerning the Russian translation of This Is My God. Wouk told me that Haskel Lookstein was working on it, and I believe he wrote to you on March 21 asking whether any progress had been made on it. Letter from Herman Wouk about Russian Translation of "This Is My God" and Daf Yomi (1973)

Dear Norman: It's a pleasure to hear from you. Haskel Lookstein suggested the Russian translation of "This is my God" a few months ago. My understanding is that it is now in the works. I know little more about it, but Haskel can give you details. It does involve Professor Branover. I hope the project comes off, and I'm prepared to cooperate as necessary. Self-evident alterations should be made where the emphasis on American life is wrong. Any intelligent translator can do that.For a little over a year I've been doing Daf Yomi, in however catch-as-catch-can a fashion. It has much enriched my life, but I wish I could learn it with you.Yours,Herman Wouk
