Dear Tevis, I am deeply grateful to you for your invitation to address the Kodimoh Brotherhood on April 10th. There is no question but that I would very much have liked to respond in the affirmative. Unfortunately, my schedule during the latter half of this year is so very overcrowded that it is just impossible for me to do so. I am confident that you and my other dear friends will understand my predicament. Dear Alex, I just heard about the marvelous Memorials Weekend that just was concluded at Kodimoh. The reports I have been receiving have all mentioned, first and foremost, the extremely prominent and successful part that you personally played in making this what has been described to me as the most notable weekend in Kodimoh's history. I thought I would let you know how thrilled I am to hear this wonderful news. Letter to R. Weisfogel Congratulating Him on Assuming Kodimoh Pulpit (1959)

Dear Alex: While I do not know if it is yet official, I do know that it is final, and I therefore hasten to offer you my warmest congratulations and best wishes upon your election as Rabbi of Kodimoh, a synagogue in which I spent five of my happiest years. Kodimoh has many problems, and it will not take you long to acquaint yourself with them. But there are also great opportunities in Kodimoh – enthusiastic youngsters, eager-to-learn young couples, people groping yet willing to follow. The younger people, especially those connected with the Day School, will bring you great satisfaction and happiness. As for the others – I know that you will meet the challenges and give an excellent account of yourself.
