Invitation to Panim-el-Panim Ceremony Honoring Dr. Belkin (1961)

Dear Friend, It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the date has been set for the convocation marking the "Panin El Panim" Anniversary. The Convocation will take place, P. G. Sunday, December 10, 1961 at the Israel Consulate in New York. It will be a most memorable event dedicated to the religious-cultural bridge between the two Jewries of Israel and America. The Convocation, which will be filmed and televised, will honor the newly formed American Board of Governors of the Jewish Orientation Fellowship, publishers of "Panim El Panim", headed by Mr. Max Stern who has been selected as the "Man of the Year". At the same time, the Harav Kook Awards will be presented in the areas of Communal life, (Model Community, Elizabeth, N. J.), Education, (Bar-Ilan University), Literature, (Dr. Samuel Belkin), Art (Jan Peerce), and Science, (Dr. Maurice S. Sage).A personal letter of invitation to you from the Consul General of Israel will be forthcoming soon. I am sure you will want to participate in this most significant event. Letter to Mehler Family about Inability to Attend Bar Mitzvah (1968)

Dear Irving and Bernice: Mindella and I were delighted to receive the Invitation to the Bar Mitzvah of your son Elias. Regretfully, as you can well understand, we shall not be able to attend the Bar Mitzvah personally. But at the same time we will be there in spirit with you. I have always felt saddened by the fact that we are half a continent apart and that I would have liked the opportunity to get to know you better. I feel even worse that we cannot join you with our physical presence at the time of your "simcha." However, we do rejoice in your happiness, and we want to wish the both of you many, many years of undiminished "nachas" and pride as your son grows up into Jewish manhood and becomes a source of pride to his parents and family and people, and achieves gadlut in Torah and wisdom. לכבוד מו״ר אישי מכובדי ורחימא לדבאי, ראש ישיבתו ונשיא עדתנו, הרה״ג מוהרר״ש בלקין שליט״א, שלום רב וברכות מעל. הססתי לכתוב מע״כ ולא להעמיס עליו את הקריאה, אולם שמעתי היום בשורה טובה על החלמתו המהירה ולכן צוותי בקצרה להוסיף ברכתי ברכת הציוט על ברכות אלפי מעריציו ולאחל לו מעומק דלבא רפואה השלמה מן השמים בתוך שאר חולי ישראל. יה״ר שבקרוב ישוב לאיתנו ולהמשיך בעבודתו ההיסטורית להגדלת התורה.
