Dear Moe, Two things: First, I want to let you know how much I admired the capable and efficient manner in which you disposed of the tributes to the eighteen "Amudim" at the Torah Umesorah Banquet Sunday night. It could not have been done in a quicker or more charming manner, and the total effect was most impressive and encouraging. "Ye’yashar koach." Second, I have been trying to reach you for two weeks to discuss with you the matter of Paul Baris and the Publications Commission. Please let me know what is new on this score. Dear Rabbi Riskin: It would have been a great pleasure for Mrs. Lamm and myself to attend the first Inaugural Dinner of the Lincoln Square Synagogue this coming Sunday night. However, unfortunately; the invitation arrived too late for me to be able to make the proper arrangement. Letter to R. Joseph Lookstein about His Homiletical Essays (1968)

Dear Rabbi Lookstein: Many, many thanks for sending me your splendid new volume of homiletical essays. Reading through them evoked a good deal of nostalgia from me for the "good old days" when you trained me – a nostalgia mingled with the same admiration which has not diminished, but rather increased through the years. I do hope that "Faith and Destiny of Man" is but the first of a series of similar volumes.
