Dear Moe, Two things: First, I want to let you know how much I admired the capable and efficient manner in which you disposed of the tributes to the eighteen "Amudim" at the Torah Umesorah Banquet Sunday night. It could not have been done in a quicker or more charming manner, and the total effect was most impressive and encouraging. "Ye’yashar koach." Second, I have been trying to reach you for two weeks to discuss with you the matter of Paul Baris and the Publications Commission. Please let me know what is new on this score. Letter from R. Trainin about Fundraising for Hasidic Summer Camp (1967)

Dear Norman: I know how close you are to Jakob Michael. You know that Federation now has two Chassidic camps – Mogen Avraham and Sternberger. We plan to open a third camp this summer next to Mogen Avraham in the Bear Mountain area. We are looking for a sponsor for about $15,000 to $20,000. We would be glad to name the camp in his name. The reason the cost is very modest is that the Bear Mountain area is rented to Federation camps at a very reasonable fee, therefore obviating the need to buy property. Could you arrange for a meeting at which time I could discuss with Mr. Michael to whom, I believe, this should be of great interest. You may know that Mogen Avraham is named for Albert Joffe, who gave us the money to make that camp possible in 1961.Cordially,Isaac N. Trainin, RabbiINT/mr

Letter from Michael Tabor about Jewish Education (1973)

Greetings from the heart of the beautiful English (!!) countryside. Sorting things out – tomorrow back to London to make preps for the big day. The challenges + problems here in this unique institution require much determination to solve השקפות התורה, yet no doubt the good Lord of Israel will note entirely neglect those who at least attempt to bring to fruition a genuine דירה בתחתונים!
