Exchange with the Harkham Family about an Encounter with R. Maurice Lamm in Los Angeles (1974)

Dear Rabbi Mrs. Lamm, although it has been 3 months since the birth of our little daughter, Rachel, we have been trying to get your address. Strange enough how we could not get it through. About 3 weeks ago we were in N.S.W. on business. While in S.P.H. we stayed at the Burley Hillers. As we were leaving there was a barmitzvah. Suddenly we saw an identical page of myself thinking it was you, we greeted Rabbi Korn and then got your brother’s reference (the sadness!). Rachel was born first day Rosh Hashanah 9.5 lbs, healthy with blue eyes and black black hair. A sheer joy and pleasure, only to be given a present – so good! My parents naturally spoil her, but it is their privilege. We trust you are fine. Sincerely, David, Graciela, Rachel Hershkovitz.

Letter from Hans Bachrach to Mrs. Weisberger about R. Lamm's Lodging in Australia (1973)

Dear Mrs. Weisberger, thank you very much for your letter of 31st May. We assume that Rabbi and Mrs. Lamm will prefer to stay in a motel rather than at private hospitality which is offered to them, and unless we hear from you to the contrary we shall make such arrangements, except for Friday night when we assume that Rabbi and Mrs. Lamm will accept private hospitality in order to be as close as possible to synagogues and places of Jewish activities. As soon as we get confirmation of the above, we shall advise you of the special phone numbers and addresses. Meanwhile, during business hours c/– the above and c/– 6 St. Aubins Avenue, Caulfield, Vic. 3161, phone number 52.5523 will suffice for contact points. We previously received biographical details of Rabbi Lamm and hope we will get some publicity next week in the Jewish press. Letter from Doris Lissauer about R. Lamm's Visit to Melbourne (1973)

Dear Rabbi & Mrs. Lamm, I would not like you to leave Melbourne without telling you what a good experience it has been for us to meet you and listen to your various lectures. We have benefited from them enormously. I am only sorry that due to your short stay & heavy commitment it was not possible to have you as our guest at home. Mrs. Lamm, I would like to mention to you that for the past 5 years I have been responsible for and in charge of pre-weddings for our old collegians at Hd. Scopus College. If in any way I can be of help to you with ideas on the practical side of these I would be more than happy. We raise a large amount of money each year & our old Collegians find it very rewarding to be part of the fundraising activity for a deserving cause.
