Dear Mr. Jacob: Now that I have returned I have re-read your letter and want you to know that I have not forgotten the Beth Talmud Torah, We are currently drawing up the requisition slip of books needed in Bombay, We shall send all of the material to the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of India, Mr. Jhirad, the Executive Director, will undertake its proper distribution. Please apply to him for your needs. I am sure he will give them his proper attention.My very best regards to Mr. Shembob, the old Mr. Manasseh, the Hassan of the Magen David Synagogue and all the students at the school, May G-d bless you and all your wonderful work for Torah.Sincerely yours,Rabbi Norman Lamm

My Dear Rabbi Lamm, Your letter was received with great joy and I had the privilege of reading it to the congregation who were present at Beth Talmud Torah for Mosaye Shabath Prayers. They were all delighted to receive your good wishes and blessings and they all joined in and pronounced ״Hashem Yishmereyhoo,״ May He Bless You and Your Family with Good Health, Happiness and Long Life. Please forgive me for not replying earlier as I was very busy for the past 2 weeks.Dear Rabbi, although it is 2 months since you left Bombay,I can still hear your melodious voice ringing in my ear.! must admit that your last farewell lecture at the "Kneset Eliyahoo Synagogue״ was very touching, and you have charmed the audience with your memorable words which cannot be forgotten for many days to come.On behalf of the members and students of Beth Talmud Torah please accept my gratitude and thanks for all the kind assistance promised by you to our institution. Letter to Ellis Meyer about Forming Beth Din in India (1961)

Dear Ellis: I have just written to your mother regarding the visit of Sally and Aaron at our home. She will give you the details. I am curious as to why things seem to have stopped in mid-air in Calcutta with regard to the formation of a new Beth Din and affiliation with the Union. I had been optimistic when I left. Has anything untoward occurred? Is there any way in which I can help? I know that you are a busy man but I do pray that you will take the time to keep me informed of the major events.
