Letter to Dr. Adlerbloom on Inability to Write Preface for Leo Jung Jubilee Volume (1962)

Dear Dr. Adlerblum: Thank you very much for your kind words and your suggestion that I write a special preface to the biography. However, the same reason for which I could not include a Table of Contents by you causes me to abandon any idea of such a preface. Page proofs have already been set for the whole first part of the book, and any additional printing at the beginning will necessitate a complete changeover and mean spending much more of both time and money than we can afford. Letter to R. Rosenfeld regarding Distribution of Leo Jung Jubilee Volume (1962)

Dear Lenny, I am looking forward to seeing the artwork by Schloss. I am returning enclosed to you the letter by Wengrov so that you can process it once we have made a decision on the artwork. I couldn't think of keeping it when, by all rights, the letter and responsibility for following it up belongs to you. Believing so, I don't dare to encroach on your prerogatives. Seriously, please, Lenny, be a good boy and follow through on these few details. Meanwhile, I have been meeting with the officers of the Center in an attempt to set up the program and other details.I suspect that, no matter what our own intentions and desires, the affair will not be exactly calculated to fit Satmar preconceptions about the nature of Rabbinic functions. It seems this will be more like a R.A.S. affair.The officers have decided to do as follows with regard to distribution of the books:About 20 copies, without any personal inscription, should be prepared for the affair itself, with one being presented to Rabbi Jur as the climax of the affair. The others should be distributed, one to a table, so that the guests might see what they paid for. These will later be collected and taken back.Meanwhile, copies of the book, which have been properly embossed, will be mailed to:All members of The Jewish Center, present or notEach authorAll guests, both those participating in the program and those invited by other guestsRemember that we had discussed the problem as to whether the English section should also be mailed to the Israeli Hebrew authors. Letter from R. Jung about Appointment to Brith Milah Board of Directors (1974)

Dear Rabbi Lamm: It is my distinct pleasure to inform you that, at the last meeting of the Brith Milah Board, you were recommended to join our Board of Directors. This recommendation was unanimously approved. I trust that you will accept this sacred obligation and assist us in advancing Brith Milah. For the past 60 years, the Brith Milah Board has served the community faithfully. We certify mohelim only after very close scrutiny of the candidate’s knowledge, ability and observance of Jewish law. We advise hospitals on the proper procedure. Enclosed please find a brochure explaining the work of the Board and one covering the School for Mohelim.
