Dear Rabbi Lamm, I am very happy that our paths crossed at the Israeli Dance Festival yesterday. I had written to ask your permission to include “The Dayenu Address” in the Model Seder I compiled. I am glad that I had the opportunity to thank you in person for all that I have learned from your writings. To have been able to do this was important because it was an expression of עקרת הטוב to a person I respect and admire. I am enclosing the Seder Program and hope you like what you read. It was distributed by the Philadelphia office of Bnai Brith to all the lodges in the Eastern Pennsylvania–Delaware State Region. Thank you for letting me use the “Dayenu” selection. I look forward to reading more of your writings as you share them with your reading audience. May you and your family enjoy a meaningful Passover. Dear Norman, When you were here last September, I mentioned a Soviet-Jewry series that I was going to prepare. The series is now scheduled for March 13, 20, 27. I am enclosing a copy of the first draft of our program. We will plan to combine two sessions each evening. It is my hope to have two representatives from every congregation and Jewish organization in attendance. The program is being co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Jewish Relations Council. During the past months we have had a lunchtime discussion group led by Rabbi Yaakov Homnick; the idea for which was prompted by the class you are giving at the 92nd Street Y. We have had 16 people indicating interest in attending, their busy schedules prevented no more than three or four from coming each week. We will have to go out now and find other people who are not as busy to sign up as well. The program has been well received and we will continue with it. Please give my best regards to Mindy. Exchange with R. Sandrow about Fundraising for Soviet Jewry (1969)

Dear Rabbi Lamm: Please forgive my tardiness in not responding sooner to your letter of October 14th. I was in Israel this past summer and that is where I would like to be all year around. As to the main part of your letter which referred to the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry, I want you to believe me that I am most sympathetic but at the present time I simply cannot commit myself to the raising of $1,000. To a colleague it is not necessary to repeat the fact that I am involved over my head in causes which cannot raise funds from any other sources. However, if you will be patient with me and will give me until the early Spring, I will try to see that you have some funds. I certainly cannot do it between now and the first of the year. After the first of the year I shall be going to Europe and Israel for meetings at the Hebrew University, etc. but when I come back I will secure some funds. Exchange with R. Teitz about Publishing Hebrew-Russian Hagadah (1970)

Dear Rabbi Lamm: I enclose herewith “fresh from the press” a copy of the new Haggadah with Russian translation which we issued for “the American and Canadian tourists in Russia.” I am mailing several packages to the various communities in Russia and I am also sending it with tourists who are going to visit Russia before Pesach. This is the first time since Communism came into power that such a Haggadah is issued. May the Almighty grant that we witness soon the redemption of Klal Yisroel.
