Dear Norman and Mrs. Lamm, Thank you very much for your really prompt reply and thank you for all the interesting information you enclosed. After going over our ways since 1942 or thereabouts, I cannot forget how much you helped me when I was at Allent Extension Hospital in 1966 and now you are as interested in my welfare and condition as some of my relatives. How Freud must gloat over his theories of childhood, companionship, et al!!! At first when I came here, it was difficult to adjust because I was on the floor with the more severe cases (they included [names redacted]) – also a former classmate of mine – until a private room became available on the floor for the healthier patients. Now I am in a private room and take my meals with people to whom I can talk – in fact, one of the tablemates sometimes me and my family from the good old days in Williamsburg. Your letter about occupational therapy, but the mention of Williamsburg leads me to the comparative study of Michtavim and Halachos. I didn’t keep a copy of my first letter, but I suppose I told you how this idea came to me when I attended law school and noted how all the Torts say that certain infractions and abuses of years to develop until now are recognized by the rightful thinking of Jews to develop until now to their rightful fulfillment. Since if you or one lawman can understand the recognition better than anyone who has to help a total disoriented home, but there are all around me the dregs of society and beyond belief. What I did not mention was my suggestion of using my resources for writing Michtavim on such and such. If you are still alive, forgive my insisting, if you would use my suggestion and discuss in the periodical Michtavim. I am in no position to call the periodical, we can talk about it. The basis must be put before those others think the war is still inside. The man you inquired about that happened to the project is in remission.
