Dear Rabbi Dr. Lamm and Mindy, Very many thanks for both your letters. We are glad to hear that you are satisfied with the report that you have received and take this opportunity to reciprocate the good wishes for Passover, but I guess we will be in touch with each other beforehand. Enclosed please find a copy of the letter which I wrote today to Abe which will keep you informed how things are going. The savings which will be achieved by my proposal may already go a good way towards the fee for the Y.U. which you had envisaged and I will give this matter further consideration. In your letter you invited me to make comments on the statement which you have prepared and I want you to know that I am delighted with it and have sent a number of copies out already. I feel, however, that it should be in the form of a letter to the Editor of the Australian Jewish News and the Australian Jewish Times, and for that reason I made a few suggestions. You will note that I'm playing a low key on our aims and I only try to stimulate the interest of the participants. Please look at my comments as suggestions only ans/,whatever your final letter to the Editor of both papers will be, we will do our utmost to see that it will be published in full, which I suggest you also suggest in your letter as a postscript.Kind regards,

Exchange with Hans Bachrach with Reflections on Australia Trip (1973)

Dear Mr. Stern, Rabbi Norman and Mrs. Lamm have stimulated, electrified and greatly influenced a fair section of our Melbourne community. We are delighted with their visit and we only hope that the heavy schedule which they undertook in this city will be offset by a few days rest before their return to the United States. I'm sure you will be delighted to hear that out of an overall total Jewish population of 35,000 in Victoria, Rabbi Lamm will have addressed at least 4,500 during his stay here. Allowing for the fact that a number of people attend more than one lecture, the Rabbi has had at least 2,000 different people listen to him who will long remember his visit. Most likely you have heard the Rabbi explain that our great Teachers are known by their works rather than by their names; our Teachers and their Book form an Identity. Similarly, Rabbi Lamm’s lectures were the mirror of his personality and Melbourne laves him for it.We, here in Australia, are grateful to the Jewish Center for allowing the Rabbi sufficient "holidays" for this visit. The Jewish Center is blessed with a great jewel. Please continue to share the Rabbi'׳ time and energy with Jewry in the rest of the U.S.A, and with us in Australia. Your congregation, will be blessed by all the Jews who come in contact with your remarkable genius.Here in Melbourne we are discussing with the Rabbi a certain follow programme and we hope that Rabbi Lamm will help in selecting Rabbis, camp councill and youth leadership instructors from the U.S.A, to spend two months in Australia next year.May I suggest to make the life of the Rabbi a bit easier, and to allow his message to be driven home to greater numbers, that your congregation provide the Rabbi with an "avante gard" to prepare his visits and possibly a group of young men and ladies to follow up (not speaking of Australia) on the Rabbi's wo Rabbi Lamm's message could possibly bear even greater fault.I deep gratitude to you and to your congregation, I remain,Sinc…

Exchange with Hans Bachrach about R. Saul Berman's Visit to Australia and Counterpoint (1974)

My Dear Rabbi Lamm, When I received a copy of Hillel Davis's letter to Mr. Leible Wolf, I got very worried and wrote to him as per enclosed copy. Your great success here was due to the fact that any personal demands which you put to your audiences came towards the end of your stay here rather than at the beginning and I'm sure you can convince the team to follow a similar approach. At the moment, we appear to be making good progress with the programme. I'm trying not to load anybody and will do my utmost to help things along. Naturally, since Rabbi and Mrs. Berman are arriving early, they will carry a fair amount of responsibilities on their shoulders and I could visualise that they may possibly be excused from the integration weekend or from the first couple of days of the seminar.
