Dear Dr. Norman Lamm: Although I congratulated you orally at the last college graduation, I want to repeat formally my best personal wishes to you for a successful tenure in the Yeshiva University presidency. At the last Senior Dinner in June, in response to the presentation to me of the Senior Professor Award, I described the turbulent early years of Yeshiva College, the growth of Yeshiva University, the administration-faculty conflicts, the administration-student clashes, the ethical, moral and religious problems generated by the explosive expansion policies. I then expressed the hope that we now embark on a prolonged period of consolidation, fence-mending, internal strength building, and an ever increasing emphasis on intensified traditionally religious values. I was overjoyed to read your interview in the Jewish Week expressing similar sentiments.
