לכבוד ידידי היקר הגאון הגדול ר' נחום לאם שליט"א. נשיא וראש ישיבת רבינו יצחק אלחנן. הנני מחשיב את הערכתך המיוחד בקשר עם מאמרי למתנת יום טוב מצויינת. חוששני שאינני ראוי לזה הלא אותה הוא שהפצת כשרינו כל כך הרבה מתורתך המציא בה והקרנת ללבינו אוצרות נחמדות מבית גנזיך עד שעלינו לומר "שמימך אני שותים ולחמך אנו אוכלים." האצלת עלי ולרבים כמוני יותר מן המצה והרחבת שטח הראות שלנו באופן נפלא – לא רק עי יצירותיך בעולם המחלה אלא גם בעולם המעלה. הצלחת לפלס לנו אני חפלה לד' שתצליח בט מעליך ותמלוך לבצע כל התכניות שלך להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה.באיחולי חג כשר ושמח ובהוקרה מצויינתשמחה

Letter to Baruch Selevan about Newspaper Reporting on R. Lamm's Parents' Wedding (2001)

Dear Mr. Selevan, It was most kind of you to send me a xerox clipping of the Yiddish Tageblatt of October 24, 1926, announcing the wedding of my late parents, of blessed memory. I had never seen this piece, and was delighted to read it. I am most grateful to you for bringing it to my attention. I will be glad to meet with you, preferably towards the end of October or beginning of November, if you wish to interview me concerning my relations with Torah Vodaath and my move to RIETS/YU. Please accept my best wishes for a ketivah ve-hatimah tovah, a year of health, peace, and creativity.

I'm sorry to say this, but... you are really the Gadol Ha’bayis – you’re helping so many in the family, as always, but these days especially my kids and grandchildren, that they are all amazed when they come together and you are invariably the subject and the model they teach their kids when they talk about the family. It is always “the Lamms” who are the ideals, “the quintessential family.” How Mom and Pop would swoon if they just heard the echoes in Olam Ha’ba. I envy you – and, yes, I love you.
