Dear Ruth and Zev: I do not know how to thank you for the pleasure you afforded me those several hours this past Sunday. It was a true delight being able to renew our friendship and to meet your wonderful children. Please let me know if your hopes for the Fulbright materialized. I am enclosing a mimeographed copy of an article I wrote (the reprints have all been distributed and I have only one left) which may be of interest to your friend, Dershowitz, the law clerk for Justice Goldberg. Mindy and the children all send their best. Be well.

Dear Marv: Many thanks for the reprints of your review of "Ever Since Sinai," which appeared in a recent issue of Judaism. I had read the review in the original, and was, as usual, much impressed by it. Nevertheless, I am deeply grateful to you for remembering me. As a matter of fact, one of the things I truly regret in having resigned from “Tradition” is the cessation of our correspondence. Letter to Ruth and Dr. Frank about Publishing Manuscript on Abraham (1975)

Dear Zev and Ruth: I reread your manuscript on Abraham, and am impressed by it all over again. It is a brilliant piece of work, and most certainly deserving of publication. Permit me to explain the delay. I called Schidman, and for several weeks he has not found the time to edit the manuscript. It needs editing, because it is too small for a book, too large for an article. If I do not hear from him in the very near future, within the next couple of weeks or so, I will submit the thing to Wurzburger in methodically futile hope that he will publish the essay in two parts, first what you call part one and then your part two. Should he refuse, it will then be necessary for us to separate both parts, or perhaps divide the essay into three parts, making each part self-contained. I will try to work on that with Schidman, but I beg you, please, please, have patience! The essay is so good, that it is worth having this patience... I hope you are all well. I will be leaving for Israel on January 19th, א‘‘י, and will be in contact with you a week or two after my return Please God in the beginning of February. All best wishes. Letter to Ruth Frank about Publishing Dr. Frank's Manuscript on Abraham (1976)

Dear Ruth: I have been overwhelmingly busy since I talked to you before the summer (and, incidentally, all of us were disappointed that you and the children did not show up that weekend), and so I did not have the opportunity to call you to ask how you enjoyed the summer. I trust that it was a healthful and relaxing and invigorating one for you and the girls. The reason for my writing is twofold: first, to let you know that I have not neglected the work on Zev’s manuscript on Abraham. A friend of mine, who knew Zev well in their early youth, Dr. Jack Nusbacher, has indicated a genuine interest in editing the manuscript, and I have just mailed off the copy to him. His style is crisp and clear, and he should succeed in making the paper more supple and lucid. The second reason for my writing is to express to you, on behalf of Mindy and the children and myself, our warmest good wishes for a year of renewed strength, vigor, vitality, and a year of happiness and nachas to all of you!
