Dear Harav Lamm, שליט"א, please accept my most heartfelt good wishes on your appointment as president of Yeshiva University. We all recognize the enormous impact of Yeshiva on Yiddishkeit in our country. Your appointment encourages me, and I am sure, those who care for Yiddishkeit, to expect much growth as a major intellectual force. I know how committed you are to true הרבצת התורה.

I am mitpallel me'umka delibba that the Ribbono shel olam should be matliach derachecha and grant you the strength and wisdom to carry out your great task.

Dear Doctor Lamm: The board of directors chose wisely! We of the Yeshiva family were deeply concerned about the ultimate choice. Your appointment has become a source of great exuberance since we have complete confidence in your dedication and ability. May I add my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the host of your friends and well-wishers for this beautiful shidduch! You, as the new president of the greatest institution on the American Jewish scene, will assure the preservation of traditional Torah learning in its modern setup. To borrow a phrase from Moshe Rabbeinu – Providence has placed the mantle of Jewish leadership, in its loftiest sense, upon your youthful shoulders. All of us look forward to an even greater and more glorious future under your capable leadership.
