פרופ' לב הנכבד, אתמול קבלתי מכתבך בו הודעינו על הכבוד הבלתי-צפוי שניתן לי. ואם כי יודע אני בעצמי שאיני כדאי ושאין אותה עטרה הולמת אותי, הנני מקבל את הפרס השנתי של קרן אברומוויץ-צייטלין ברגשי כבוד לחברי ועדת השופטים הנכבדים, ותודה לך ולאנשע הקרן ויוזמיו, על העידוד להמשיך בעבודתי במקצוע זה שאני עמל בו כמה שנים. כנראה שאוכל להפנות מעבודתי כאן באמצע חודש שבט, והנני שהותי בארץ מיום 16 יאנואר עד ליום 23 יאנואר אי"ה. הואלך נא בטובך להודיעני אם יש לאל ידכם לתאם לתקופה הכל את טקס מתן הפרס, עם כל הפרטים הדרשים לי.ביקשתי מן המו"לים להמציא לכם את שדעת הווכסמפלים משל ולמד משני הספרים, על-פי הכתובת שהזכרתי.

Letter to Dr. Lev Listing Invitees to Ceremony (1973)

Dear Professor Low: I am sending you this letter air mail special delivery, and also a separate copy by special messenger who should be arriving in Israel on January 7 אי"ה. It should be obvious that I do not place excessive faith in either the Israeli or American postal systems... The first cable that you sent out to me on about December 26 or 27 (and about which you told me when we talked over the phone on December 28) never arrived. I am grateful to you for your second telegram which I received on January 1.
