My Dear Rabbi Lamm, I have your letter of the 11th of November, last, and it made me very happy to hear that you have arrived. Realizing as I do what hard work your success was built upon. Your dear parents are to be congratulated for having the good fortune to see their Norman a Rabbi of an important Jewish Center. Unfortunately for me that I cannot join your other friends on Sunday the 21st of the month, at the Installation. You see my dear Norman, we live on the north shore, which entails a distance of about 100 miles driving. I would, however, wish to meet you some times soon on an afternoon, when we could even take lunch and talk. If you will be kind enough to write me soon after your installation we will arrange the best time suitable for both of us. I wish for you a fruitful and healthy life in your chosen work. Please give my very best to your lovely parents. Dear Friends: A General Membership Meeting of The Jewish Center will take place in the Center auditorium on Monday evening, November 17th, 1958 at 8:30 P.M. In addition to extending a cordial and public reception to the new members who have joined the Center since our last Membership Meeting, there will be a general and open discussion on matters pertaining to Center good and welfare, and some musical entertainment to delight those who attend. We will also have a further and appropriate opportunity to welcome our newly appointed Associate Rabbi, Norman Lamm, and Mrs. Lamm. Dear Members: As my first official communication of this New Year – 5728 – I am very happy to inform you that the Board of Trustees, at its last meeting, unanimously and enthusiastically appointed Dr. Leo Jung, as Senior Rabbi, and Dr. Norman Lamm, as Rabbi of The Jewish Center, by which respective titles they shall hereafter be designated. Both Rabbi Jung and Rabbi Lamm, whose scope and nature of Center activity remain unchanged as heretofore, look forward to many years of fruitful cooperation in the cause of Judaism, and in the service of our beloved institution and its family of families.
