Dear Rabbi Jung: Kindly find enclosed herewith my bit to the Mois Chitim fund. I regret it is so very late. However, please permit me to state – I called at the Center office last Monday and inquired if I may see Rabbi Lamm for just "one second only." For the fact that I am not a Center member, it occured to me to personally hand him my check. I was told that he was on the telephone and that I wait. Twenty minutes later – I was told that the Rabbi will not see me but will talk to me on the phone. I was further told in order to see him I must make an appointment in advance.I firmly believe such action is unwarranted and wholly unbecoming a Rabbi. I admittedly state so for the very fact that I was not only in the building and waited as told but that I precisely emphasized et the very outset – may I see him for "just one second only."Encl.A most happy Pesach.Respectfully,[redacted]

My dear Rabbi Lamm, Greetings: Trust you and your family are well. How many Grandchildren do you have now? Thanks so much for sending me your פלפול and the address on יום השואה. The latter inspires the following idea which I would like to share with you. I was invited to play in London by the organizers at a big rally to mark the 40th anniversary of liberation from the camps. The foremost if these affairs is usually secular & stupid in the, graced by famous actors/actresses who "render their services" and a קל רחמים to provide the "religion." As politely as possible I told the organizer that I would only attend if I could play something that not only emphasized the היעלת but also gave inspiration to us as Jews today & for the future.
